DESIGN & BUILD MANAGER
Location: Essex
Remuneration: Up to £65,000 base + bonus' + car
Sector - Social Housing/Regeneration
Our client is now looking to appoint a Design and Build Manager to lead and co-ordinate the Project Design and Management Team in the planning, co-ordination and design functions on each allocated project from Tender to Post Contract.
Main Tasks:
1. Instigate all relevant actions detailed within their Operation Procedures.
2. Liaise and act as the main point of contact with Clients.
3. Ensure all co-ordination issues relating to tenders and contract issues are implemented between Design Team, Construction Team, Employers Agent and Client.
4. Prepare and review development and service company costs; technical criteria and progammes for tenders.
5. Control and co-ordinate Design Team meetings to ensure information is produced correctly to financial budget and time constraints.
6. Instigate and process all technical issues during the pre-contract stage of a project.
7. Review and produce on a monthly basis development cost schedule, statutory service cost schedule and CDM statement.
8. Attend where required subcontractor and Project Team meetings to ensure health and safety/design/technical co-ordination details are performed.
9. Assist the Community Development Manager in the preparation and administration of contract requirements for tenant consultation, local employment and training.
10. Produce and update Health and Safety Plans and subsequently the Health and Safety File/Operation and Maintenance Manual.
The successful candidate will:
1. Ideally have a proven track record in social housing and regeneration
2. Ideally being working for or have worked for a Residential Contractor
Knowledge & Skills:
1. An understanding of the construction process involving JCT Forms of Contract.
2. Experience of using computers, preferably Excel and Power Projects.
3. An ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management with respect to Client, Professional Practices and Site operatives.
4. A degree in Building Management or similar professional qualification with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a managerial capacity.
